/atn-todo-enqueue: add a ToDo card from your session
/atn-todo-enqueue adds one card to your project's ToDo cards without leaving your AI tool. Run it when you or your AI agent notice something worth doing later, such as a bug next to the code you are working on, and you want to keep going with what you are doing.
A ToDo card is a short note of work to do later: a follow-up, tech debt, a bug or an idea. The page on ToDo cards describes a card's fields and what you do with cards in the web app.
Run /atn-todo-enqueue
/atn-todo-enqueue [text] [--type <type>] [--priority <priority>] [--origin <spec-id>] [--no-questions]| Argument or flag | Description |
|---|---|
text |
Optional free text that says what the card is about. Without it, the skill takes the subject from the conversation, or asks for it. |
--type <type> |
The card's type: bug, tech-debt, follow-up or idea. |
--priority <priority> |
The card's priority: high, medium or low. |
--origin <spec-id> |
The specification the card comes out of. The web app shows it on the card under From. The skill does not ask for an origin when you leave the flag out. |
--no-questions |
The card gets no open questions, and the skill does not ask about them. The flag can stand anywhere in the command. |
A value for --type or --priority that is not on the list stops the skill before anything is created, with a message that names the valid values.
One run creates one card. With a text, --type, --priority and --no-questions all given, the card is created without a question to you, unless a similar card exists:
/atn-todo-enqueue The cart total ignores the discount code after a page reload --type bug --priority high --no-questionsThe ToDo page of the web app copies the bare command for you with Copy add-card command.
What /atn-todo-enqueue does
- Takes the text from your command. Without one, it works out what to record from the conversation so far, and it asks you only when the conversation gives it nothing to go on.
- Asks, in one message, for whatever you did not pass: the type, the priority and whether the card has open questions.
- Takes down the open questions you dictate, only the ones you name. The skill adds none of its own. It stores answer options with a question only when you gave them.
- Tidies your text into a title and a description, without adding content, and translates it to English if you wrote in another language.
- Compares the card with the cards that are open. If one is similar, the skill shows it and asks whether to go ahead.
- Creates the card and reports it.
The skill records the card as worded in step 4 and shows the result in the report.
Questions /atn-todo-enqueue asks
| When | The question and its options |
|---|---|
| No text was given and the conversation holds nothing to record | What should be recorded, as an open question |
--type was not passed |
The type, with all 4 values. The one the skill derives from your text comes first and is marked "(Recommended)". |
--priority was not passed |
The priority, with all 3 values and the derived one first |
--no-questions was not passed |
Whether the card has open questions to record, to be settled when the card is carried out. You dictate them. |
| You named more than 3 open questions | A request to pick or merge them down to 3. Nothing is created until 3 or fewer remain. |
| A similar open card exists | The existing card with its id, title and status, and "Create the card anyway" or "Cancel" |
A card created by this skill takes up to 3 open questions. You add further questions to the card in the web app.
What /atn-todo-enqueue changes
The skill creates one card in your project, with the status Open and the source Agent. The card holds the title and description from step 4, the type and priority you chose, your open questions and, with --origin, the link to the specification. It appears in the Open list of the web app's ToDo page without a reload.
The skill changes nothing else: no other card, no specification and no file in your repository. With "Cancel" at the duplicate question, no card is created.
A card cannot be changed from the session after it is created. To correct a mistake in it, edit the card in the web app.
On the Free plan a project holds up to 100 ToDo cards, counting Done and Dismissed ones. When the project is at its limit, the skill reports that and creates nothing. Plans and limits has the numbers for each plan.
The report
The report shows the created card: its id, title, description, type and priority, and its open questions as they were stored.
When no card was created, the report gives the reason: an invalid argument, more than 3 open questions left, a cancelled duplicate with the id and title of the similar card, or a refusal by Athenode with its reason, such as the plan's card limit or an origin id that does not exist.
To work on the card later, run /atn-todo-dequeue with its id, or turn it into a specification with /atn-mindmap and its --from-todo flag.
